The 6th annual Kyokushin Karate Summer Camp was held on 8th July 2023 at Irvine Beach, Scotland under the supervision of Shihan Prasanna Fernando.
Although it was one day camp, traditional kihon, kata and kumite training were intertwined in it. Also, “Taikiken” training was a new training for many students and they showed interest in it when they understood the value of it. After the training at the beach, the second training was held at the Woodlands Community Hall and special attention was paid to the kumite. Here, the advice and learning provided by Sensei Andras Grof(3rd Dan) who won the Hungarian light-weight kumite title 5 times and was the champion in Spain and German Opens’ his kumite teaching helped to overcome the shortcomings of the students and increase their knowledge. Our special thanks to Sensei Andras.
As always, summer training was very fun and challenging, and the rewards and mental happiness gained from outdoor training were the most valuable thing here.
