KYOKUSHIN CUP – Men’s and Woman’s Open weight Full-contact Karate Tournament.
Open weight competition for Adults

It’s a pleasure to invite you and your students to KYOKUSHIN CUP – Men’s and Woman’s Open Weight Full-contact Karate Tournament will take place on Saturday 30th August 2014 at Arc Gym, Caledonian University, Glasgow.
The rules will be the International Knock Down standard competition by the rules of International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan.

The minimum age for competitors must be 18 years on or before the day of competition and competitors must be at least 8th Kyu grade to be eligible to compete.

Men’s and Woman’s Open weight Full-contact Karate Tournament on 30th August 2014.

KYOKUSHIN CUP Men & Women’s divisions will be:

Open weight, open category (No weight class or novice category)

 Duration of a match:

The bouts will be 3 minutes with 2 possible extension rounds of 2 minutes. If there is no decision after the second extension then the lighter competitor by 8 kg will be declare the winner (we have revised the deference from 5kg to 8 kg).

There is no Tamashiwari test.

Protection:

It is mandatory for competitors to wear a Shin guard, Groin guard.

Female competitors must wear a chest protector under the dogi.

Mouth guards are optional.

 Application:

The closing date of the applications is the 20th of August. We will not be accepting applications after this date.

The Tournament fee of £ 10.00 can be transferred to the Bank Account below: or paid on the day.

Weight checking and medical check-up

The weight checking and medical check-up will take place from 10.15am.

      Referees:

We would like 2 referees to attend from every Kyokushin Organisation. Please let us know if you are able to provide referees and please send their names and grades in advance.

Referees must wear their official referee uniform for the Tournament.

There will be referee meeting at 10.30am on the Tournament day.

Winners:

The top 3 competitors will receive a medal: The top 4 will receive trophy: The top 8 will receive Tournament certificate.

 Spectators:

The ticket price for spectators is £ 8.00. 1 coach and 2 referees from each Organisation can attend for free.

Sayonara party:

Sayonara party will be held at the CHINESE BUFFERT KING at 22-24 West Nile St City Centre, Glasgow at 5.00 pm.  All are welcome!
